Some Nice Stories About Valentine Kindness
Here are three stories I heard this past week about people doing nice things for others and thought you'd enjoy.
The first story is about a couple that have been together for 30 years and in all that time the husband has never given his wife a gift or even a card on Valentine's day. Over the years she has given him many cards and small gifts to express her affection for him, and this year was no different. He received a tiny box of heart shaped chocolates from her. What was different was that he thought of giving her a something and then he actually did it! The wife was surprised and delighted to receive a Valentines card and her favorite chocolates. I don't know if the husband fully realizes how much that small act touched his wife's heart.
My second story is about a young couple who are living apart as one of them is going to school. They only see each other every other weekend since it's a 3 hour drive between their homes. After work on Valentine's day he drove a total of 6 hours to personally deliver roses to her for Valentines day! He said being tired the next day was well worth it, and the young lady has never been happier. Wasn't that a nice thing to do?
My last story is about a family with puppies and a lonely elderly gentleman. The family was looking for good homes for their puppies so they hung posters up and told everyone they knew that they had puppies for sale. With in a few hours they had a phone call and one of the puppies had a nice new family. The next phone call was from the elderly gentleman, he came to see the puppies and as he held the smallest one it was obvious that they were a perfect match. The pup didn't squirm and wiggle as he usually did, he snuggled calmly in the man's arms. When the gentleman asked about the price, the family quoted a lower price than they originally wanted. The money didn't matter, rather they felt it was more important that the puppy had a good home and the lonely gentleman had a new friend.
We'd love to hear your stories and comments about someone doing something nice.
